SILA SVETA, an internationally renowned multimedia studio known for blending art and technology, returns to Qatar with a spectacular large-scale opening show for the FIFA Arab Cup 2025. The opening ceremony held in Doha at Al Bayt Stadium gathered 70,000 spectators, setting a creative tone for one of the most anticipated tournaments.

The entire stage was designed by Sila Sveta, which was produced by Stage One. The 20-minute opening show unfolded as a cinematic journey shaped by unity, heritage, and renewal. At its heart, the stage became a powerful storytelling device, tracing the creation, collapse, and symbolic rebirth of a monumental structure, designed as an evocative metaphor for continuity, cultural memory, and shared identity.

Architecture of the Stage

The stage’s striking architecture is defined by thousands of interlinked chains that form the very heart of the design. Initially at the show, the concealed elements slowly revealed themselves, creating the powerful illusion of a monument rising. As the performance unfolded, the structure ascended to a dramatic height of 40 meters, transforming into a levitating landmark crowned with shimmering tails made of 22 kilometers of chrome-finished chains flowing beneath it. This central set piece of the stage became a symbol of unity and a place that unites the community.

The stage shows a thoughtfully planned system, with every element functioning as one system. The entire stage was supported by a mechanism of truss systems, composed of 20 automation winches lifting and lowering the stage elements that weigh around eight tonnes. Eleven steel wire catenaries ran across the pitch, which carries the load and diverts the winch lines, with all pieces brought to the field with custom platforms using 102 wheels to distribute loads and protect the playing surface.

The FIFA Arab Cup 2025 extends SILA SVETA’s long-standing creative partnership with Katara Studios and major international sporting events in Qatar, marking another landmark moment in the ongoing collaboration and building on the legacy of previously creating the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Closing Ceremony and the AFC Asian Cup Opening Ceremony at Lusail Stadium in 2023.

“The venue and its technical limitations allowed us to develop ideas much faster and avoid unnecessary rounds of testing. Katara Studios and Qatar as a host continue to impress us with their level of preparation and their ability to bring together top professionals for live sports productions,” said Magrifa Güra, the project’s producer at SILA SVETA.

Marking it as the sixth collaboration with Katara Studios and the third major football ceremony in Qatar, SILA SVETA delivers one of its most ambitious stage designs to date. The FIFA Arab Cup 2025 stage stands as a monumental and dramatic architectural spectacle, seamlessly executed to leave a lasting visual impact.
