Recently, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) put out a call inviting bids to oversee the construction of the newly anticipated district ‘North Pole’ in Saudi Arabia. Upon completion, the district will feature the world’s tallest skyscraper, the Rise Tower. Subsequently, Rise Tower Saudi Arabia has caught the attention of the media again and has gone viral on the Internet since the announcement was out.

Set to be the world’s first tower to reach an unbelievable height of 2 kilometers, the Rise Tower is ideally located within the groundbreaking North Pole district, prioritizing vertical living, renewable energy, and green spaces, presenting an integrated life with Residential, Commercial, and Industrial zones complimented by Parks, Educational institutions, Healthcare Facilities and Entertainment spaces, and next-level infrastructure enhancing connectivity with high-speed metro system and self-driving vehicles.

The ambitious Rise Tower in the North Pole district, Saudi Arabia, is planned to pierce the sky with an incredible height of two kilometers, in a context where the tallest building in the country, the Abraj Al Bait Royal Clock Tower in Mecca, is only 600 meters tall. In fact, the existing world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, with a height of 828 meters, is not even half as tall as the anticipated Rise Tower in Saudi Arabia.

Foster + Partners designed the winning concept for this incredible ground-breaking Rise Tower in the North Pole district, to the North of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in response to the competition launched later in 2022. The construction of the design concept for the Rise Tower Riyadh is estimated to cost a hefty five billion dollars.

Strategically located near the Expo 2030 and the New Murabba, the Rise Tower Riyadh offering stunning views of the city from its observation decks and housing fine-dining restaurants and premier hotels, is expected to certainly transform Riyadh and the new North Pole district into a must-visit global business and tourism hub.

The Tower District Real Estate Development Company, a PIF subsidiary, issued the request for proposals for the project management consultancy (PMC) of the North Pole district and the Rise Tower within the District from pioneering engineering and consultancy firms by March 4th this year. However, the proposal deadline was extended and postponed to 20th March, inviting proposals from global firms.

While the proposed bidders for project management consultancy include Aecom, Bechtel, and Jacobs, the USA’s Parsons and Turner, who also secured the project management contract for another tall tower, the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, and UK-based Mace are also willing to bid.

The Rise Tower, in the outskirts of Riyadh, soaring a stunning two kilometers into the sky, truly a world wonder, soon to see light, explains the heights of technological innovations reached and inventions that brought the industry this far. Upon realization, the Rise Tower Riyadh is going to redefine the skyline of the city and set the bar high for future tall building innovations globally.

Can you believe technological advancements have brought us a long way from the Great Pyramids of Giza at a height of 146.5 meters as the tallest building for centuries till 1311 to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai rising over half a mile into the sky? But the game is not over, with the 1000-meter tall Jeddah Tower and, recently, the unimaginable two-kilometer tall Rise Tower Saudi Arabia in progress.
