Bvlgari’s newly launched Scuola Bvlgari is its first dedicated jewelry school, located within the expanded Manifattura Bvlgari in Valenza, Italy, the world’s largest single-brand jewelry manufacturing site. The school is designed to combine real-time production with immersive, hands-on learning.

Scuola Bvlgari is a bold statement of inclusion and continuity. It publicly extends the mission of Bvlgari’s internal Jewelry Academy (established in 2017 for in-house craftsmen). For over a century, Bvlgari’s Roman flair and Italian savoir-faire have captivated the world through iconic designs, from the coiled Serpenti to daring high-jewelry statements. Now, the Maison is opening the doors of its creative sanctum to aspiring artisans everywhere.

The expansion of the Manifattura from 14,000 to 33,000 m² reflects Bvlgari’s surge in demand and its intent to strengthen Made-in-Italy craftsmanship. The site already houses over 1,100 artisans, with plans to grow to 1,600 by 2029, a channel that Scuola Bvlgari will help feed.

Design and Sustainability at Scuola Bvlgari

The expanded Manifattura Bvlgari in Valenza, home to Scuola Bvlgari, has achieved LEED Gold certification, a globally recognized standard for eco-conscious construction. This recognition highlights the site’s commitment to reducing environmental impact through responsible water management, energy efficiency, and the use of low-impact building materials.

To reduce dependence on external power sources, the facility integrates advanced renewable energy systems. More than 4,100 photovoltaic panels and a geothermal network of 100 ground probes allow the site to generate nearly half of its energy needs internally. Despite its growth in size, the Manifattura maintains the same carbon footprint, underscoring Bvlgari’s commitment to sustainable operations.

The façade design combines modern transparency with structural solidity. A blend of glass and vertical cladding creates a layered effect, balancing openness with architectural strength. The aesthetic reflects Bvlgari’s dual philosophy of innovation paired with respect for tradition.

Beyond the walls, the surrounding grounds have been designed with biodiversity in mind. The campus features 8,000 square meters of rewilded land planted with native trees, along with 10 active beehives that collectively house close to one million bees. These initiatives strengthen Bvlgari’s role as a custodian of the environment, extending sustainability beyond the production floor.

Scuola Bvlgari’s Spatial Placement & Symbolism

Scuola Bvlgari is accommodated in a new building strategically positioned between the original Manifattura structure and its recent extension, physically connected via a suspended external walkway. This architectural feature goes beyond functionality, serving as a symbol of Bvlgari’s ability to unite its heritage with a vision for future craftsmanship.

Bvlgari’s expansion extends beyond production and education, placing equal emphasis on fostering well-being. The Manifattura campus incorporates a range of human-centered amenities, from health screenings and summer programs for employees’ children to concierge services and sustainable mobility options. These features underscore a commitment to employee wellness and community integration, not just industrial output.

Set to begin in September 2025, Scuola Bvlgari will operate inside the bustling Manifattura Bvlgari in Valenza, melding the hum of production with the thrill of hands-on learning.

For Bvlgari, sustainability is not limited to environmental responsibility; it also encompasses the preservation of cultural heritage. The Valenza Manifattura has been shaped into a model for protecting and renewing Italian craftsmanship.

Within this space stands Scuola Bvlgari, the Maison’s first jewelry school open to the public. Created in collaboration with Italy’s Tarì Design School (TADS), the institution provides structured training in both goldsmithing and gemstone setting. Strategically located between the original and expanded wings of the facility and linked by a suspended walkway, the school embodies the dialogue between tradition and innovation.

Scuola Bvlgari stands within an eco-conscious, architecturally forward setting. Positioned between the historic and newly expanded wings and connected by a symbolic bridge, it embodies Bvlgari’s assurance to honor tradition while shaping the future of craftsmanship.
