Anantara Hotels & Resorts, the luxury hospitality brand recognized globally and recently spotlighted through its Thai resorts featured in The White Lotus, is set to launch its first U.S. property with the unveiling of Anantara Miami Resort & Residences in Miami’s Edgewater district.

Developed through a partnership between One Thousand Group and Minor Hotels, the project marks a major expansion for the Thailand-rooted brand and introduces a new mixed-use hospitality concept centered on luxury living, hotel flexibility, and wellness-driven design. The 50-story waterfront tower will rise approximately 650 feet above Biscayne Bay, positioned at the convergence of the Design District and Wynwood, two of Miami’s most prominent cultural and lifestyle neighborhoods

The development is planned as a hospitality-led vertical community combining private ownership with resort operations. It will include 100 private-branded condominium residences, 120 resort residences eligible for hotel use, and approximately 50 boutique hotel suites. At the same time, Anantara’s own project page lists 54 hotel suites as part of the final hospitality program. A private rooftop helipad, a dedicated vitality and longevity center, and wellness-focused amenities form part of the project’s defining features. The concept is positioned around integrated programming for recovery, movement, nutrition, and holistic living, blending Thai-inspired wellness traditions with modern longevity science.

Minor International founder and chairman William E. Heinecke described the project as a strategic U.S. debut for the luxury brand, emphasizing Miami as the ideal gateway market for Anantara’s expansion. The tower is being designed by globally recognized firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) in collaboration with ODP Architecture & Design. The design aims to modernize Miami’s skyline while maintaining a strong sense of place, with subtle Thai-inspired elements incorporated to reflect the Anantara brand identity.

The project balances Miami’s contemporary waterfront architecture with hospitality cues rooted in Southeast Asian luxury traditions. The tower is intended as a branded residence and a full-service destination where private ownership and hotel operations coexist seamlessly, reinforcing a growing trend in ultra-luxury residential hospitality.

Interior design will be led by acclaimed Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, marking her first U.S. residential project. Known internationally for her hospitality and luxury interiors, Urquiola’s involvement adds significant design prestige to the development. Her role is expected to shape both the hotel suites and residential interiors, bringing a globally recognized design language to the Miami market. The interiors are intended to complement Anantara’s philosophy of immersive luxury, with spaces focused on comfort, wellness, and experiential living rather than traditional high-rise opulence alone. Forbes Travel Guide described the project as bringing “Patricia Urquiola interiors” alongside a helipad and longevity center, underscoring its positioning at the top end of Miami’s luxury hospitality market.

For One Thousand Group, the project represents another high-profile ultra-luxury development, while for Minor Hotels, it serves as a milestone entry into the U.S. under its flagship luxury brand. Kevin Venger, co-founder of One Thousand Group, said the development is intended to be more than a branded residence, describing it as a “fully realized concept” that merges hospitality, private ownership, and longevity into one unified experience. This reflects a broader shift in luxury hospitality where wellness, flexibility, and lifestyle integration are becoming as important as location and design.

With Anantara Miami Resort & Residences, the firms are introducing a new hospitality model to the city, one that combines resort living, branded ownership, and urban wellness infrastructure at a scale not previously executed in Miami.
