Zaha Hadid Architects Unveils GO PARK Sai Sha: Flowing Forms for a Community in Motion

Zaha Hadid Architects has completed GO PARK Sai Sha, a multi-level sports and commercial hub set between the verdant slopes of Ma On Shan Country Park and the coastal edge of Three Fathoms Cove in Hong Kong. Developed within a larger masterplan by Sun Hung Kai Properties, the complex reflects a dialogue between landscape, infrastructure, and community.

The design connects the 1.3 million-square-foot complex through high walkways, winding ramps, and rooftop gardens, which are all inspired by the surrounding mountain terrain and traditional village structures.

“The design develops two key principles: the concept of a ‘fabric landscape’ that pulls nature into the heart of the design, and a gentle ramp that navigates across multiple layers, defining a ‘lifted village’ that combines shopping, sports and entertainment within courtyards that are enriched by the surrounding nature,” said Paulo Flores, Director at Zaha Hadid Architects.

The 300,000-square-foot commercial zone includes retail, restaurants, and public plazas. Thoughtfully integrated into the sloping terrain, it reflects Zaha Hadid Architects’ signature flowing geometry. At its centre is a primary ramp that rises through the structure to rooftop gardens offering sweeping views of the area.

GO PARK Sai Sha outdoor facilities include adventure playgrounds, rock climbing, a golf driving range, cycling, and running tracks, along with nature excursions via GO PARK Aqua. It also includes multi-sport courts for football, tennis, lacrosse, padel, basketball, and pickleball. While indoors, the complex features a 1,500-seat stadium, a fencing school, a swimming academy, and a 25-metre pool.

The mix of indoor and outdoor leisure activities highlights Sun Hung Kai Properties’ focus on community-first development. It also reflects Zaha Hadid Architects’ vision to create public spaces that connect people with nature in an urban environment.
