    Wimba, a Krakow-based start-up, is revolutionizing dog care by using an HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) 5210 to make individual orthotic and prosthetic medical equipment for dogs.

    Founded in October 2022 by Greg and Franek Kosch, Wimba’s goal is to meet a crucial need in the veterinary industry: providing sophisticated orthopedic treatments for pets that use cutting-edge technology to restore their mobility. They recognized the limitations of standard animal orthopedic care procedures and identified potential for innovation. Their aim is to revolutionize the way orthopedic diseases are addressed in dogs by giving personalized, 3D-printed prostheses and orthoses and rehabilitation solutions. With numerous success stories and positive testimonials from satisfied pet owners and veterinarians, Wimba has proven its commitment to quality and innovation.

    By using the additive manufacturing technique, Wimba can 3D print orthopedic products that are transforming the market for personalized orthopedic supplies. These products can be used to treat congenital, degenerative, or post-accidental abnormalities in a manner that is customized to each patient’s needs. Wimba’s Elastic Insert for Orthosis, made of BASF Ultrasint® TPU01 material, is a low-cost, comfortable, easy-to-clean alternative for helping dogs heal from injuries. Using the lattice structures available through 3D printing technologies, the insert may be customized to meet the unique anatomical features of each dog, resulting in a unique design particular to each dog’s leg.

    The insert’s lightweight design dramatically minimizes strain on a dog’s limbs, allowing for greater mobility and overall comfort. Moreover, 3D printing significantly reduces waste and energy consumption, making Wimba a sustainable choice for pet orthotics and prosthetics.

    WimbaScan app has also reduced the time required to take measurements from more than an hour to just 15 minutes

    Wimba’s key obstacles are the length of production time and the accuracy required throughout the process, from initial measurements to the finalized gadget. HP’s Multi Jet Fusion technology has enabled the company to reduce its product lead time from six weeks (using the previous process) to seven working days.

    The new WimbaScan app has also reduced the time required to take measurements from more than an hour to just 15 minutes, using only a smartphone. The team also plans on setting up a manufacturing facility in Poland and begin production in the the United Kingdom and United States, giving them complete control over quality and reducing production time. Their ultimate goal is to establish WIMBA as an international pioneer in pet orthotics and prosthetics.
