Midjourney in Architecture 

A new design revolution is here! The advent of AI (Artificial intelligence) technology and tools like Midjourney and DALL-E 2 is finally maturing out of infancy and into the field of art, architecture, and design. Creators from every industry across the globe are scrambling to learn and harness this new technology to inform design decisions.  

AI (Artificial intelligence) image-prompting is said to be an art form, one that is easy to learn and hard to master. Learn to work through the chaos of the image outputs, find patterns between language and image, and control the iterative process towards intentional and feasible results. This interactive course uses discord chat and polls to streamline each participant’s involvement.

The Scope of the Studio: 

In Midjourney Architecture 2.0, students will learn some of the secrets of prompt crafting (the ability to control diffusion-model AI) and the intricacies associated with iterative design evolution. Beyond technical skills with AI (Artificial intelligence), they will learn some of the architectonic and visual sensibilities that go into curating AI (Artificial intelligence) as a medium of art and architecture.

In addition, participants will obtain exclusive walkthroughs of commissioned projects using A.I., learn industry-standard rationalization methods for digitization and fabrication, and participate in formulating a final project.

• The Midjourney Architecture 2.0 workshop by PAACADEMY will start on Saturday, November 26, at 11:00 GMT.
• Total sessions: 2 sessions
• Daily Schedule: 11:00 – 15:00 GMT.
• The entire studio will be recorded, and videos will be available for participants just a day after the class for an unlimited time.
• PAACADEMY will only provide a certificate of attendance for students who deliver a final project.

Instructor:

Tim Fu

Tim is a Canadian architectural designer at Zaha Hadid Architects in London, UK. He is part of ZH CODE (Computational research group), specializing in algorithmic design and related computational research for projects worldwide. He previously worked as Project Lead at IJP Architects, where his work can be found in CNN, Archdaily, AJ, and Dezeen. He graduated master’s with distinction from the Architectural Association and ran a computational design workshop at the Harvard GSD. Tim’s continual exploration of A.I. in architecture has caught global attention, and he’s been actively working at ZHA and independently to find methods of adapting AI into architectural practice.
