Week 1
Introduction
The first session starts with welcoming students. Hamid, Valentina, and Marta introduced the studio workshop and their expectations from attendees.
Valentina Sumini’s Lecture
Then, Valentina delivered a lecture on the human-computer interaction for space exploration. She focused on a multi-planetary future through designing and building inhabited environments in outer space.
Students’ Introduction
Later, students were asked to introduce themselves. Additionally, an online simulation configuration tool called SIMOC was proposed. SIMOC is an interactive model of an off-world community where designers can benefit from NASA’s four-decade data to design a habitat for humans and plants.
Marta Rossi’s workflow
Marta delivered a Grasshopper3D workflow to help students create a simulation of an inflatable.
Rhino and Grasshopper Basics
Finally, Hamid Hassanzadeh presented the basics of Rhino3D and Grasshopper3D to make sure all the students reach an acceptable level of software knowledge.
