Around the world, architects, urban planners, and designers are trying to create eco-friendly cities that embody the principles of sustainability, environmentally conscious practices, and nature-inspired design.

Current planning processes, which are designed with a top-down hierarchical approach of traditional urban planning, are unable to meet local needs and participatory processes, research on bottom-up urbanization, which defines participatory processes in the production of space.

We live in the Anthropocene age. In other words, we are in an age when humanity has become the most important factor that determines the functioning and physical structure of the planet.

As our world changes, our cities continue to change. Sustainable, smart, futuristic city concepts began to appear frequently. Designers, planners, and architects are working to create more sustainable and livable city concepts.

The world’s population is projected to hit an estimated 8 billion people on Tuesday, 15 November 2022. The world population is grown by 1 billion since 2010. According to the UN, achieving this milestone presents “a testament to scientific breakthroughs and improvements in nutrition, public health, and sanitation.”

For COP27, the representatives of different countries will meet in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt at next Sunday, 6th of November.

“Smart City” effectively integrates physical, digital, and human systems with a structured environment to provide a sustainable, prosperous and inclusive future for ecosystem assets.
