Fungus Among Us is an Eco-Parametric architectural system designed by two enthusiastic architects, Eliana Nigro and Marc-Antoine Chartier-Primeau, as part of the PAACADEMY’s ‘Eco-Parametric Structures’ studio workshop with Arthur Mamou-Mani. A first iteration of this adaptable structure was explored on Kongens Nytorv, the King’s Square, in Copenhagen. The intricate details that trail a butterfly intensely stimulates and arouses our mind. German design studio 3deluxe have envisioned a mesmerizing biomorphic Butterfly Pavilion on Noor Island, a lagoon island in the capital of the Arab Emirate Sharjah. The peculiar winding terrain of the Island percolates as the architectural fabric of the Butterfly Pavilion. Crystal-like formations bedazzled in gold ornamentation strikes the naked eye, characterized as a sculptural masterpiece building breathing on the Island. Robots and 3D printing are taking the next step, and it is gigantic. Four years ago, eight professors from the ETH Zurich University in Switzerland enchanted an idea to use robots and 3D printers to envisage a three-storeyed home known as DFAB House at a local research and innovation campus.
