    10 skyscrapers expected to be completed in 2024

    From Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Towers to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, many new skyscrapers are currently under construction. With each passing year, countries seem to be pushing the limits, building taller and taller structures. The engineering marvels that these skyscrapers are is worth marveling at, but there’s more to these structures than just their height. These towering structures are also a way to showcase a country’s power and create a new economic landmark. Many of them are expected to be completed this year.

    The prestige of having the tallest building in the world is a coveted title that countries are always striving to achieve. The competition to build taller skyscrapers than ever before is fierce, and it’s evident that architects and engineers worldwide are working tirelessly to make their mark on the world.

    Here are 10 skyscrapers currently under construction around the world and expected to be completed in 2024:

    International Land-Sea Center

    Location: Chongqing, China
    Height: 458.2 m

    The Chongqing International Trade and Commerce Center is the focal point of an 11-tower development known as the Chongqing Tian Di Master Plan. It is a mixed-use skyscraper currently under construction in Chongqing, China. When finished, it will be the tallest building in Chongqing and one of the tallest in the country, soaring at a height of 458.2 meters tall with 98 stories. The concept for the Chongqing International Trade and Commerce Center was initially proposed in 2007, and construction began in 2012.

    Greenland Shandong International Financial Center

    Location: Jinan, China
    Height: 428 m

    The Greenland Shandong International Financial Center is a supertall skyscraper that is presently being constructed in the heart of the Jinan Central Business District, situated in the city of Jinan, Shandong, China. Once complete, this towering structure will rise to an impressive height of 428 meters, making it one of the tallest skyscrapers in the entire Shandong Province.

    Ningbo Central Plaza Tower 1

    Location: Ningbo, China

    The Ningbo Center is a skyscraper that is currently being constructed in the city of Ningbo, China. The construction of this structure commenced on the last day of the year, December 31, after experiencing a delay from its initial 2018 construction date. The construction has been ongoing since then and is expected to be completed in 2023. This towering structure is set to become a landmark in the city, and it was fully topped out by the first half of 2023.

    Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

    Located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Ciel Tower is one of the skyscrapers that is currently under construction. Plan to reach a height of 366 meters, the tower features a unique and sculpture-like design that is characterized by tapers in both the upper and lower parts of the building, a sleek silver-colored facade, and concise recesses in the upper section. To ensure its stability, the skyscraper required the use of approximately 12,000 cubic meters of concrete and over 3,000 short tons of steel for its foundation.

    Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey

    Location: Istanbul, Turkiye

    The Central Bank building, which is situated in the ?stanbul International Finance Center, is expected to play a significant role in strengthening the economy of the country. Upon completion, the building will stand at a towering height of 360 meters, inclusive of antenna towers, making it one of the tallest skyscrapers in Europe. This structure will serve as a symbol of Turkey’s progress and development, contributing to the country’s image on the world stage. Its strategic location is in the ?stanbul International Finance Center, a hub for global finance and business.

    Junkang Center

    The Junkang Center is a towering skyscraper currently under construction in the city of Wenzhou, China. The building stands tall at the height of 339 meters, making it a landmark in the city’s skyline. Construction work for this grand structure began in 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2024. Once finished, the Junkang Center will be the tallest office building in Wenzhou as well as the entire Zhejiang Province. This structure is set to offer a world-class experience to its residents and visitors alike.

    Oxley Tower 1

    Regalia Dubai

    Deyaar’s latest project, Regalia Dubai, is a luxury living in the heart of the city. The tower, a 70-story structure, offers a smart and sophisticated urban lifestyle to its residents. Construction of this architectural masterpiece began in August 2021, and the project is expected to be completed by December 2024. The building features a wide range of amenities, all located on a sprawling 14,636 sq ft leisure deck that sits above the car parking levels. From the deck, residents can enjoy views of the city skyline while using in various leisure activities such as swimming, gymming, and more.

    Junchao Plaza

    Height: 320 m

    Junchao Plaza, also referred to as JC Plaza is an office and retail building that is currently being constructed. The project started in 2017 and is scheduled to be completed in 2024. This structure will stand tall at 320 meters and will feature a total of 67 floors above ground, along with 2 basement floors. The building will offer a range of modern amenities and features, including cutting-edge technology and contemporary design elements. Once complete, Junchao Plaza is expected to be a major landmark in the city, attracting visitors and tenants alike.

    Yuexiu Global Financial Center

    Height: 300 m

    The Yuexiu Global Financial Center stands tall at over 300 meters high, offering a view of Wuhan. With a massive floor space of 210,000 square meters, the development is part of the Foster + Partners designed Yuexiu International Financial City initiative. The initiative aims to create a new, highly permeable urban district that regenerates the city’s core.

    One of the important features of the Yuexiu Global Financial Center is its ventilated double-glazed curtain walls, which not only enhance the building’s aesthetic appeal but also provide an energy-efficient solution. The building is designed to be eco-friendly, with several green initiatives in place. The structure is currently under construction, and the expected to completed in 2024.
