The UIA World Congress of Architects provides an exceptional opportunity for architects and industry professionals from over 135 countries to share knowledge and establish new connections across continents.

The city of Copenhagen has been officially selected as the World Capital of Architecture for 2023 by the Director-General of UNESCO, on the recommendation of the General Assembly of the International Union of Architects (UIA).

JAJA Architects’ proposal won the invited competition. All four proposals for the metro competition are on display in Copenhagen’s City Hall until 12 December.

The new Ørestad Church, a contemporary landmark for Denmark’s capital, depicts a gathering spot in the forests designed by Henning Larsen. The 1,750 sqm church, designed in wood and wood shingle, represents the wide environment of Ørestad.
