Day 1 – Track 1
The first day of the conference was completed with outstanding lectures and webinar sessions. We all were amazed by the inspiring speeches from Filippo Nassetti, Stephen Melville, August Lehrecke, and Alvin Huang. Additionally, Nic bao and Mihai Dragos Potra demonstrated extraordinary webinar sessions with Grasshopper3D and Cinema4D.
Introduction – Welcome
In the first place, Hamid hassanzadeh and Micheal Pryor welcomed the participants and provided the CD Next 8.0 Online Conference series’ themes at the opening of the session.
Filippo Nassetti
Filippo Nassetti, the co-founder of MHOX, provided a thorough explanation of Postnatural design at the “Computational Design: NEXT 8.0.” He dived into various computational experiments while defending the blurry distinction between the natural and artificial.
Nic Bao
Nic Bao, architect and founder of FormX, delivered an intriguing Grasshopper3D and Ameba workflow at the “Computational Design: NEXT 8.0.” He showcased several uses of the Ameba, a bi-directional evolutionary structural optimization plugin, both in design and research.
Stephen Melville
Stephen Melville, the founding director of Format Engineers, addressed the audience at “Computational design: NEXT 8.0” with a mesmerizing presentation about the specific aspects of Guerrilla tactics while explaining the power of collaboration, knowledge of resources, and digital tools in defeating project problems.
