Binghatti Launches The World’s First Mercedes-Benz Branded City in Dubai

Dubai is preparing to deliver the world’s first Mercedes-Benz-branded city, a large-scale urban development created through a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Binghatti Developers. The project is a residential tower planned as a complete urban district. It represents a new approach that combines brand identity, architecture, and city planning into a single, integrated environment.

The project represents Binghatti’s first master-planned community. It marks a significant expansion of the Mercedes-Benz Places concept from developments to a fully planned urban district. Designed as a “city within a city,” the development integrates residential, commercial, and public functions within a unified planning structure. The master plan prioritizes walkability, short travel distances, and coordinated mobility systems, enabling everyday needs to be met within the district. Architecture, urban services, and transport networks are designed to operate as a connected framework rather than as independent components.

The partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Binghatti originated with the brand’s first real estate project in Miami, currently in its third phase of development. The Dubai project extends this collaboration to an urban scale, applying Mercedes-Benz’s Sensual Purity design philosophy beyond automotive design to architecture and city planning.

Mathias Geisen and Muhammad Binghatti sign the contract for the joint project “Mercedes Benz Places | Binghatti City”

Mercedes-Benz Places, Binghatti City is planned in the Meydan district of Dubai and covers more than 10 million square feet. With an estimated value of AED 30 billion, the project is among the largest branded real estate developments announced in the region. It includes multiple residential towers, commercial areas, public spaces, and supporting infrastructure, all planned under a single master plan.

The planning concept focuses on integration and proximity. Residential buildings are arranged close to retail, leisure, and public spaces to reduce dependence on long travel distances. Instead of separating functions into isolated zones, the city combines housing, workspaces, shopping, and recreation within walkable distances.

Public spaces, landscaped corridors, and pedestrian routes form the structural framework of the master plan. This approach supports everyday movement on foot while maintaining clear circulation for vehicles and services.

    Mercedes-Benz Sensual Purity in Architecture

The architectural language of the city is guided by Mercedes-Benz’s Sensual Purity design philosophy. In architectural terms, this approach prioritizes clarity of form, controlled proportions, and a balance between function and appearance.

Buildings are designed with smooth geometries, refined surfaces, and consistent material palettes. The intention is visual order, precision, and long-term relevance. This design approach is applied across façades, structural forms, and interior spatial layouts to maintain consistency throughout the development.

The residential towers serve as the primary architectural elements of the city. Their forms are influenced by aerodynamic principles, resulting in curved profiles and streamlined massing. Glass façades are used extensively to maximize daylight, views, and visual connection with the surrounding landscape.

Landscape and elevated green areas connect the towers at lower levels, allowing open spaces to function as shared community zones. These tower levels also act as transitions between private residential areas and public urban spaces.

The master plan includes dedicated mobility hubs that connect residential zones with retail and leisure areas. Pedestrian routes are shaded and clearly defined, while vehicular circulation is organized to minimize congestion and conflict with pedestrian movement. The infrastructure is designed to accommodate future transport technologies, ensuring adaptability over time without major structural changes.

Green spaces are distributed across the city at ground level and podium levels. Parks, landscaped corridors, and open plazas are integrated into the master plan to improve environmental comfort and provide usable outdoor areas for residents. These spaces are functional components that support social interaction, recreation, and visual relief within a high-density urban environment.

Residential units are planned with emphasis on efficiency, comfort, and spatial clarity. Layouts prioritize natural light, ventilation, and clear separation between private and shared areas. Material selection and finishes follow a restrained, high-quality approach consistent with the overall architectural language.

Mercedes-Benz Places Binghatti City introduces a new model where brand identity is translated into urban planning and architecture. The project demonstrates how large-scale developments can integrate design philosophy, infrastructure, and public space into a cohesive city environment.
