    Signs Your Commercial HVAC System Is Begging for a Fix

    You rely on your HVAC setup to ensure comfort regardless of outdoor temperatures. However, if it’s underperforming, it might be the moment to get it fixed.

    Below, we’re going to look at some common signs that it’s time to call a company like Fusion Repair for commercial HVAC system repair so you know what to look for.

    Unusual Noises

    One of the first signs that you need commercial HVAC system repair is unusual noises. If you’ve observed your HVAC unit producing numerous unusual rackets, it’s quite likely that it demands some repair work. Here are some of the common noises:

    • Banging
    • Wistling
    • Humming

    This can mean you have an issue with your compressor, ductwork, or other kinds of components.  

    Weak or Inconsistent Airflow

    Another one of the common signs of HVAC issues is a change in airflow.  If you’ve noticed one of the signs below, you want to call and have your system checked.

    • Reduced airflow: – Do you notice that the air that’s coming from your vents is not as strong? This might mean your filter is dirty, there are problems with your ductwork, or your vents are blocked.
    • Airflow Has Changed – if you’ve noticed your airflow’s changed, your compressor may have failed. This happens when your compressor isn’t able to regulate the refrigerant flow.

    Strange Odors

    This is another one of the common signs of HVAC issues. Ever caught a whiff of something odd in your house or workplace? If it’s got a funky or stale vibe, it might hint at scorched wiring, electric troubles, or even mold creeping in.

    Higher Energy Bills

    A well-working system will be efficient so if your bills are higher without having excessive use due to weather. it can mean that your system isn’t efficient. It also can mean it’s working much harder than it needs to because of easily resolved issues.

    Humidity Imbalance

    When you notice the air in your building seems too moist or overly parched, it’s often a clue that your system isn’t working properly.

    • Extreme Humidity Levels – If you’ve picked up on really high or really low moisture in the air, it might suggest your system’s not doing its job well. A sign of low humidity is dry skin.
    • Mildew or Mold – High levels of humidity can cause mildew and mold to grow.

    Frequent Cycling or Constant Running

    Does it seem like your system is always running, or it frequently turning off and on? Constant commercial HVAC cycling could mean that you have a problem with your thermostat, your system is oversized, or your insulation is poor.

    Uneven Heating or Cooling

    Go through your building and check the different temperatures. Are you noticing inconsistencies? Below are two commercial HVAC maintenance signs.

    • Hot and cold spots – When the temperatures in your building are uneven, it can point to a variety of problems. It can mean that your vents are blocked, your ductwork has problems, or that your thermostat isn’t working.
    • Lukewarm air – Does the air coming out of your vents feel lukewarm all the time? Your system could be having trouble maintaining the right temperature.

    Reduction in Air Quality

    Have you noticed that the quality of your air has gone down lately?  

    It might be due to your system requiring some fixes. If you’re seeing too many allergens, mold popping up, or dust piling on, it could suggest the system’s not working right. Maybe it’s just time for a fresh air filter, or it could hint at a larger issue. It’s a good idea to get your technician to stop by and check out what’s going on. Doing this will keep your building a lot cozier for all involved.

    Thermostat Problems

    If your thermostat stops functioning, it could force your HVAC setup to strain much more. Should you spot issues with the thermostat, there might be larger trouble looming ahead.

    Old Age

    How many years has your system been running? If it’s been some time since its last checkup, it could be due for a fix or even a full swap.

    Refrigerant Leaks

    Anything to do with refrigerant means a call to a professional HVAC company. Here are two signs that your refrigerant is low.

    • Reduced cooling/heating – A leak in your refrigerant can reduce the efficiency of your system and damage Refrigerant leaks reduce efficiency and can damage your HVAC system.
    • Visible water damage or Leaks – Look for signs of water damage or leaks around your unit.

    In Conclusion

    Your HVAC setup might need fixing or a full swap. If you spot any of these, don’t hang around too long before calling a tech to check it out. Waiting can make a small problem even bigger.
