    Qiddiya Performing Arts Center incorporates AR, VR, and AI technologies

    Qiddiya Investment Company is developing a new performing arts center to elevate the entertainment sector in Riyadh as a part of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision. Located on the Tuwaiq cliffs, Qiddiya Performing Arts Center is expected to attract eight hundred thousand visitors a year and eventually welcome 10 million visitors to Qiddiya in a decade.

    Qiddiya Performing Arts Center campus will incorporate Virtual Augmented Reality and will be able to host around 260 performances a year, providing valuable opportunities for young and established artists from Saudi and all around the world creating a vibrant cultural community.

    “Qiddiya City embodies our commitment not only to entertainment and sports but also to the preservation and elevation of Saudi culture. The introduction of the Qiddiya Performing Arts Center heralds a new era of artistic expression and community engagement.” said Abdullah Aldawood, managing director of Qiddiya Investment Company.

    This mega project is 45 km from Riyadh and is designed by a renowned American architect Tom Wiscombe, with BSBG as the Lead Design Consultant. The bold and dramatic design is in the backdrop of the mountains with illuminated blades of the main building and other 3 buildings with retail, education, dining, sky gardens and art galleries to provide an immersive experience for the visitors.

    As the night falls, theQiddiya Performing Arts Center transforms into a vibrant space combining lighting, digital media and sound. LED colour changing lights are incorporated in the external façade combining video projections and digital entertainment in a green and natural setup of Qiddiya.

    “The new performing arts center is a significant cultural initiative that will contribute to the promotion of Saudi culture and heritage to both residents and foreign visitors alike. It will allow the year-round enjoyment of community, cultural and entertainment areas showcasing various aspects of Saudi culture, including music, dancing, and folk arts. It will provide a platform for individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds to show their talents through diverse cultural events.”

    Dr. Osama Ghanem Al-Obaidy, a professor from the Institute of Public Administration in Riyadh

    The city is expected to house more than six hundred thousand residents by 2030 and create over 325000 jobs with various other landmark locations in the future like Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, a motorsport track, a Dragon Ball theme park, and Aquarabia water theme park attracting tourists from worldwide.
