Introduction to the workshop:
This workshop is the second installment in the Revit Flow series, designed to elevate your Revit skills from intermediate to advanced levels. It emphasizes the utilization of families, BIM techniques, and parametric tools to enhance the design process and generate BIM data schedules. A fundamental component of this workshop is the integration of Rhino Inside, which allows you to leverage the power of Rhino and Grasshopper within the Revit environment. You’ll gain the ability to create intricate building elements and systems using advanced Revit features. Additionally, you’ll learn how to produce detailed and precise construction documentation while gaining insights into the significance of massing and Revit parameters in architectural design within a BIM framework.
The scope of the workshop:
In Revit Flow 2.0 , Participants will delve into the integration of Rhino with Revit through the use of Rhino.Inside. This integration facilitates the creation of intricate and complex 3D shapes, with a specific emphasis on adapting the scope according to given parameters. The complexity level is designed to cater to a wide range of participants, from beginners to those with prior experience in Revit and Rhino. Throughout the workshop, the focus is on building proficiency in 3D modeling and generating 2D documentation and schedules using the tools and capabilities of Revit.
Methodology:
The workshop provides a structured approach to mastering Autodesk Revit, using the California Academy of Sciences by Renzo Piano as an actual project example. It consists of 4 sessions, covering Mass modeling in Revit, Complex forms using Grasshopper, interoperability using Rhino.Inside and finally understanding shared parameters in Revit . Participants engage in hands-on exercises and Q&A sessions to build skills and confidence.

Mustapha Nachar
Mustapha Nachar is a Lebanese architect and a computational designer. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in architecture from City University and a Master’s degree in advanced computational design from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC). His career has spanned Beirut, Dubai, and Austria, offering him diverse experiences in esteemed architecture firms.
Amid his journey, Mustapha’s designs have earned him commendable recognition. Notably, he secured the Jaguar Design XE award, an accolade that has fueled his passion. In 2014, his involvement in the Oscar Niemeyer Adaptive Reuse Competition showcased his talent and allowed him to represent Lebanon at the UIA Elsewhere event in Durban.
In 2021, Mustapha played an integral role in clinching the Jacque Rogueries Foundation Grand Prize as a part of the computational design team at Najjar Najjar Architects, a collective achievement that underscores the power of collaborative efforts. During his tenure at Bernard Mallat Architects, he introduced Dynamo as a transformative tool for design exploration and automation, remarkably enhancing efficiency by 60%. This journey of growth, recognition, and collaborative discovery defines Mustapha’s career in architecture.
