Concept
This dining table has been designed to be the centerpiece of a wider private house refurbishment project. It has been developed as an undulating shape that captures the light from the bay window and light fixtures above.
Design and Fabrication
The use of parametric design tools like Rhino+Grasshopper allowed the design to be fast-tracked. The script generated both the model, used to compare the design options and check its ergonomics, and the fabrication pieces.
The table was designed in London and built off-site in Portugal. The fabricator provided useful manufacturing, such as reinforcement requirements and shape optimization, that were conveyed in the script before production.
